Creating A Club Policy

Planned communities incorporate a lifestyle component, of which clubs play a part. Associations need volunteer leaders that are passionate about a topic, sport, hobby, or leisure activity to govern their respective clubs. A board adopted Club Policy outlines the processes, authority, and expectations for clubs within their community. Ensure there is a review of the association’s CC&Rs and bylaws prior to drafting, to identify any portions that may affect club operations, as those documents would prevail over a club policy. A club policy can be drafted similar to bylaws, specifying the purpose, scope, definitions, and responsibility, along with the policy itself.
